Operational logistics software: one console for fleet, warehouse and customer state

Engineering case study on a logistics operations platform that unifies live fleet tracking, warehouse intake, CRM and operational analytics behind typed domain services.

Business value

The value hypothesis is a shared operational picture: fewer manual reconciliations, clearer exception ownership and better evidence of delivery. The fleet feed is simulated in the demonstration and must be replaced with production telemetry before operational claims are made.

Evidence and measures
  • - The platform unifies four domains: fleet, warehouse, CRM and analytics.
  • - The demonstration uses five seeded vehicles and a 600 metre hub geofence; these are test conditions, not customer performance results.
  • - Stage SLAs include 24 hours for an intake transition and 336 hours for an ageing listed item in the documented example.
Research Questions
  1. 01Can one typed operational model reduce the reconciliation work between dispatch, warehouse and customer teams?
  2. 02Which exception signals should be surfaced before an SLA is missed?
  3. 03How does a simulated architecture transition safely to real fleet telemetry?
Method
  1. 01Keep map, roster, warehouse, CRM, analytics and global search on shared typed domain services.
  2. 02Separate route geometry from live data sources so API degradation does not produce a blank operational view.
  3. 03Persist delivery confirmation as an auditable event and rank warehouse bottlenecks against explicit stage SLAs.
Evidence
  1. 01Simam Digital Logistics engineering case study.
  2. 02Haversine route and geofence logic with typed domain services.
  3. 03Firestore persistence and live listener architecture documented as real; fleet positions remain simulated.
Next Steps
  • Connect a controlled telemetry source and compare simulated versus observed behaviour.
  • Run a dispatcher and warehouse workflow timing study.
  • Measure exception resolution time, proof-of-delivery completeness and SLA visibility.
