01 · Problem

What needed solving

Healthcare operations are often understood through separate maps, dashboards, bed-management views, spreadsheets and site-level tools. The research question is whether one spatial interface can help teams move from national pressure to a hospital, floor, room and next operational decision without losing context.

02 · Approach

How we're building it

We built a public proof of concept that moves from a national 3D estate view into site-level operational indicators, patient-flow and escalation views, what-if scenario planning, transparent ambulance-routing research, a deterministic room-level simulation and a conversational layer grounded in the visible interface. Integration and assurance surfaces are presented as a simulated deployment direction, not as live connections or certification claims.

03 · Finding

What we learned

A convincing healthcare twin needs more than an impressive map. It must make operational language, assumptions, simulation boundaries, evidence and human approval visible. The strongest pattern is a continuous surface from place to pressure to action, with clear warnings wherever the data is illustrative rather than live.

04 · Next question

What we are testing next

How should a healthcare operations twin be evaluated with domain experts against decision time, explanation quality, safety review and workflow handoff before any real-data pilot is considered?

05 · Timeline

Where it is

  1. Aug 2026
Expanded proof of concept with spatial operations, scenario and assurance surfaces
  2. Aug 2026
Public demo and video released as an independent Simam Digital R&D concept

Public R&D boundary

This is an independent Simam Digital R&D concept and is not an official NHS application, NHS service or NHS-endorsed product. The public demo uses simulated data and does not connect to live NHS systems or patient records.
